Webliography

  • BrainPOP.com
    • BrainPop is a fun and interactive tool that I have seen teachers use in every classroom I have observed. It explains the content in a simple and concise way that doesn’t replace instruction but provides a basic understanding of the topic
  • Khan Academy
    • This website has helped my peers growing up study for school all the way from Elementary School to High School. While exploring it more it can be used in classrooms as well to help with instruction. I love how it can be used as a part of a curriculum or just help with studying. It isn’t just for one or the other
  • Scholastic.com
    • I like this website because I have noticed many of Texas textbooks are from the brand scholastic and I feel that that having interactive learning with the same basis as the textbook helps unify learning. I feel like this is less overwhelming than multiple websites each with their own interpretation. I find it less confusing. It is also rich in information for teachers
  • PBS Kids
    • I feel like this would be a good website as many kids are familiar with PBS characters which provides a reason for them to become interested. Also, it is game based learning which I can say from experience was one of the ways I learned best in elementary school. One philosophy I have is that younger children learn well through play.
  • Funbrain.com
    • This is a website with videos, games, and reading to help with learning. I enjoy how simple it is to navigate and I really appreciate the “Math Zone” as Math seems hard to find on these sites. Its fun and simple which I appreciate. Once again, I feel like technology is best used for kids when it make learning a fun game!
