Technology has been shown to have a lot of benefits when it comes to teaching, I feel like it differentiates instruction by having many different methods of learning available. This could be in instruction, games, quizzes, and ways for students to present what they have learned. Students who learn better one way can exercise that learning style in the applications available for them. I believe technology is a good tool for supplementing instruction.
The possibilities are quite endless. However, that is a double-edged sword. There are so many opportunities to use technology in the classroom that it gets confusing. Different applications use different terminology and update their layout regularly. That is not helpful for students who are not as tech savvy because once they get comfortable navigating an application it changes. I feel like technology could be a great tool but should not be used to replace instruction.
I believe it is best utilized as supplementary and the push to integrate technology is so great that it is not done effectively. At least until we can get it more cohesive and work out the bugs, technology should be used in the classroom at a lower intensity.
